B.Pharma. Lateral Entry is a program that allows diploma holders in pharmacy to directly enter the 2nd year of a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma.) degree. This pathway typically reduces the overall duration of the B.Pharma. program from 3-4 years for eligible candidates. Lateral entry students join regular B.Pharma. students in their 2nd year and complete the remaining 3 years of the course. The curriculum covers advanced pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, and practical training. Admission is usually based on merit in the diploma program or through entrance exams conducted by universities or pharmacy councils. This option provides an accelerated route for diploma holders to upgrade their qualifications and enhance their career prospects in the pharmaceutical industry.
